Is true strength holding it together?

April 15, 2018

“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing to do.  But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength”

This quote has always stood out to me.  I think we are taught that strength comes when we can hold it together and sometimes that is very true. Sometimes we have to hold it together for the sake of others, and also because we can.  I also think that strength comes when you love yourself enough to let shit fall a part.  I value you both things equally.

The key to me is to never give up. I firmly believe that the only way that I fail in life is when I stop trying, or when my ego takes over and I believe that there is nothing to be learned from a situation.

Many of you know about my very public struggle with finding peace with my mom and dad both passing away in less than 6 months time.  I am in no way there yet, but I keep pushing forward. I told my mom no matter what I would never give up or stop fighting and that is a promise I intend to keep.
